It may feel like it's far away, but this year's Easter week begins 26/3, so why not start decorating already? Or more importantly - start thinking of the best hiding spots for the egg hunt!

After a wintry sleep the snowdrops are now in bloom and soon the crocuses will follow. The weather may still be grey and damp, but time is flying fast and we know we're heading for longer days. We've got exciting news in our stores to brighten up cold and dark winter days! We have just received a selection of children's books, as well as sought after design items from Ernst Kirsteigers and his cookbook I det enkla bor det goda, which won the category Best Cookbook By TV Chefs in Europe' in the prestigious international cookbook competition Gourmand Awards.

Pulled Oumph! Taco

Oumph! is one of the most popular vegan foods in Sweden. This recipe is perfect for Taco Fridays, to get that real Swedish 'fredagsmys' going!
Top tip! Many carnivores love Oumph! too - try it, you won't be dissapointed!

Serves 4

280 g Pulled Oumph!
Vegetable cooking oil, for frying.
Your favourite taco fillings! We love our tacos with loads of veggies (sliced tomatoes, salad leaves, thinly sliced peppers etc.), topped with avocado cream and sriracha mayonnaise and grated plant-based cheese.

Avocado cream:
2 avocados
1 clove of garlic
1 small piece of ginger approx. 1 cm square
1 chili, to taste
1-2 tbsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice
Salt and ground black pepper

Defrost the Pulled Oumph!, and then fry on a medium heat in a little vegetable oil.

Avocado cream:
Pit and peel the avocado and place in a bowl. Crush the garlic, grate the ginger and add to the mix. Lastly, add finely chopped chili, lemon juice, salt and black pepper to taste. Mix with a hand blender until it’s a smooth, creamy consistency.

Sriracha mayonnaise:
Place the mayo in a bowl and add sriracha, or other spicy chili hot sauce, to taste.

Build your own tacos with Pulled Oumph!, your favourite veggies, the avocado cream, mayonnaise and top with grated cheese.

Christmas is over and a new year has begun. It was amazing seeing so many of you in our stores and online leading up to Christmas, and we hope we get to see you in 2018 too.

Christmas is just around the corner, and here at TotallySwedish we are currently keeping ourselves very busy making sure you all get your Swedish Christmas food this year!

Our cut-off time for online orders will be Sunday 17/12 at midnight. Orders placed before this will be delivered on Tuesday 19/12. Any orders placed AFTER midnight between Sunday and Monday will be delivered on Wednesday 03/01.

All of a sudden December is upon us, and now is when time starts moving so fast. First up is first Sunday of advent on the 3rd of December, then Lucia on the 13th and before you know it - Christmas Eve! (Which is the day Swedes celebrate...)

Five weeks until Christmas!

Days and weeks fly by this time of year. It's just seven weeks until Christmas. Although the mere thought can be stressful at times, it's nice to look forward to enchanting Lucia processions, glögg parties and a relaxing Christmas holiday enjoying good food and drink with your nearest and dearest.

As summer is drawing to a close, the days may be getting shorter but we've been making the best of the recent warm, sunny weather, enjoying long walks along the river Thames, and fika breaks in the garden, accompanied by large slices of home made cakes and pies.

"Where did the summer go?" - some of us might wonder, but us swedes (and all other Sweden fans) shall not despair, as Autumn also means crayfish season!
