Vyssan Lull (Swedish)
The Police in Stockholm have no leads in the case about the brutal execution of a Filipino woman and her two small children in their apartment. They cant find no trace of the offender and the questions keep coming. Why does the children's Swedish father live isolated, almost without contact with the outside world? And how could the woman, with the small sums she earned on her non legal cleaning job afford a house worth several millions?
The story has its roots in something that happened a long time ago when a young couple on a sunny day in May stopped their car at a kiosk to buy Saturday candy to two little boys playing in the back seat.
Detective Conny Sjöberg is working hard on the case with a decimated team to help him. Jens Sandén who is suffering with complications from a heart attack, Petra Westman who still is on the hunt for the identity of the man who raped her and her colleague. Einar Eriksson has disappeared and has not turned up at work.
Sjoberg himself is confused and decide to finally go to the bottom of his mysterious background that his mother refused to talk about. One day he knocks on the door at the home of his grandmother that he thought throughout his life was dead.
Vyssan lull is the third book of the Hammarby series and is about guilt, and how it affects people even after they are gone. The two earlier books in this popular series are Gingerbread and Mom, Dad, kids.
