Makes 25 biscuits
100 g butter, room temperature
100 ml granulated sugar
2 tbsp golden syrup, (we stock Dansukker light golden syrup)
250 ml wheat flour
1/2 tsp bircarbonate of soda, (we stock Kocken’s Bircarbonate of Soda)
1 tsp vanilla sugar, (we stock Garant vanilla sugar)
1 pitch sea salt flakes
Preheat the oven to 175° C.
Whisk butter, sugar and syrup until porous. Mix the flour, bicarbonate of soda, vanilla sugar and salt. Add it to the batter and mix into a dough.
Divide the dough into 2 pieces and roll into lengths, about 30 cm. Place the lengths on a sheet of baking paper and flatten them slightly.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 12-15 minutes. Cut the lengths into diagonal pieces as soon as they come out of the oven. Leave to cool on the tray.
