INGREDIENTS (Makes approx. 200 candies)
200 g almonds
140 g granulated sugar
50 ml water
Pinch of salt (optional)
--
HOW TO:
Roast the almonds in a dry frying pan. Stir and let them colour, but be careful not to burn them.
Bring the sugar and water to the boil in a saucepan.
Add almonds; cook and stir mixture until liquid evaporates and leaves a syrupy coating on almonds and you hear the almonds ‘snap'.
Pour the candied almonds onto a tray lined with baking paper. Use two forks to separate them from each other.
Sprinkle with a little salt (optional).
Leave to cool before serving.
Enjoy!
Top tip!
Make a cone made out of a a pretty piece of paper and fill it with almonds - it makes a nice gift!
