Tired of meatballs? Try this delicious classic Swedish meatloaf recipe. Serve with mashed potatoes, lingonberry jam and peas.
SWEDISH MEATLOAF

INGREDIENTS

 

Serves 4

 

500 g minced beef
1 dl bread crumbs
3 1/2 dl milk
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 pinch of ground black pepper
1 yellow onion
100 g mature cheese
1 dl chopped parsley

HOW TO

 

Meatloaf is a classic Swedish dish, perfect served with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam.

 

Set the oven to 200 C (gas mark 6). Mix the minced meat with bread crumbs, milk, salt and pepper. Place the mix flat on grease proof baking sheet. Peel and chop the onion finely. Slice the cheese. Spread onion and parsley on to the mince mix and add the cheese slices. Shape the mix in to a roll. Remove the baking paper and place the meatloaf roll on an oven-proof baking tray. Cook in the middle of the oven for approx. 30 minutes.

 

Serve the meatloaf with mashed potatoes, lingonberry jam and peas or pea shoots.
